I've learned allot in these months about myself. ever since the school holidays has ended the kitchen has been very slow - well for me - because of the rush in the holidays i have been working hard doing the " Plek Van Die Vleisfreeters ", numerous conferences, moselesele and the usual work in the main kitchen...
I have done allot for Vleisfreeters and it was exciting as the pace wasn't what it was before and the hustle for refills for the salads, chicken, if we ran out we had to make a plan or make a new dish...
the confrences are always good because you get such a variety of customers, for example you get really dificult ones where everything is always a problem, the kind ones who just ask you for a favor and then does his or her own thing after... the Ecolife functions are my favorite because the girls are kind and so are the organizers...
They always love what they get and don't really complain. and your hours aren't that bad when you do their function with 2 other students... We clean quite fast for the extra half an hour to get off go home and get as much rest in for the next day as you possibly can...
Moselesele was great, i loved it so much i was always at least half an hour early every time, i was only there for 2 days though but the people that i had to cook for had very interesting ideas and had me make them great food, such as, stir-fry dumplings, my very own tomato and onion mix, I also made "pap" and braaied for them...
Now that the June - July vacation is over it can get kinda slow and boring but just have to try and keep busy.
